Carapace up to 15cm. 

Description
:
Reddish-brown to purplish carapace and walking legs. Carapace almost circular. The claw arms are long and slimish with a
single row of nodules along outer edge , whilst the claws are slender, smooth and pale with spatulate claw tips. The walking legs and claw arms are covered with numerous short spines and nodules

Ecology
Often in caves and beneath overhangs at depths to 130ft (40m). Forages in the open at night. Feeds on algae and carrion.
